John McGarry
Attorney
While studying metallurgical engineering through a liberal arts program at Lehigh University, John McGarry and his friends learned what the arts can bring to a well-lived life. He learned to appreciate the human imagination and its capacity to innovate and improve upon our condition.
Over his lifetime, John learned something else; he learned that the world evolves through teaching, that we have a responsibility to give succeeding generations the tools they need to build our future.
In his practice of law, John has taught, directly or indirectly, international IP law, its intricacies and strategy, to many IP lawyers. Highly respected for his thought leadership, his colleagues hold him in the highest esteem for his contributions to the field.
But you'll never learn of his accomplishments when you meet with him. The conversation is likely to begin and end with his honest enthusiasm and admiration for the talents and interests of the firm's younger counsel and staff, the newest techniques and technologies his firm has put into practice to protect their clients, the latest methods to measure and protect intangible assets for companies who use talent to drive their business.
He serves as the calm eye in a storm of hard work and discovery, with much more to teach and much more to learn.
